Harry L. Gonso

Harry L. Gonso is a partner at Ice Miller LLP.  He practices in general corporate and transaction law and life sciences.

Gonso served as Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels' senior counsel and chief of staff during 2005 and 2006.

He served 18 years on the Board of Trustees of Indiana University where he chaired two Presidential searches.  He has also been active in numerous civic, cultural and educational organizations including service on the boards of directors of: Community Hospital Foundation, Community Hospitals, Methodist Sports Medicine Foundation, American College of Sports Medicine Foundation, Skyline Club, Indianapolis Tennis Championships, Municipal Recreation, Inc., and as a member of the Penrod Society.

Gonso has been actively involved in life sciences and currently serves on the advisory board for Regenerative Biology and Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine, as well as Vice Chairman of the Indiana University Foundation Board of Directors.  Gonso is also a founding member of Twilight Venture Partners, an Indianapolis based life science venture capital firm.  He is on the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute External Advisory Committee, the Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation Board, Indiana University Kelley School of Business Life Sciences Industry Advisory Board, and the IUPUI School of Science Leadership Council.

Originally from Findlay, Ohio, he received his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1970.  As an undergraduate, Gonso lead Indiana University to the Rose Bowl and was voted the team's Most Valuable Player.  He won All-Big 10 and Academic All American honors in football.  He earned his juris doctorate from the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, where he graduated with honors in 1973.

Gonso and his wife, Lucy, have four children:  Chris, Matt, Sara and Ellie.
