David N. Shane

David Shane worked at LDI, Ltd. LLC from 1997 through 2012, serving as LDI’s Chief Executive Officer from 2007 until his retirement.  He continues to serve LDI as a member of its Board of Managers.  Prior to his service at LDI David was an attorney with the law firm of Baker & Daniels for 20 years.  He is a graduate of Wabash College and Duke University School of Law.

Since arriving in Indianapolis in the mid-1970s, David has been committed to improving the civic life of the city, region and state.   He served in the leadership of social service, cultural and amateur athletic organizations in the 1970s and 1980s and continues to serve in civic and educational organizations.   David served on the Indiana Education Roundtable for Governor Frank O’Bannon and Governor Joe Kernan; on Mayor Bart Peterson’s Charter School Board; as an advisor for education and employment for Governor Mitch Daniels; and he serves today as a member of the Indiana State Board of Education under Governor Mike Pence.

David also serves on the boards of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership,the Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County, the Economic Club of Indiana, the Lilly Endowment, the Mind Trust and Wabash College.

David and his wife, Anne, a civic servant in her own right, have two grown children and three grandchildren.
